What I’m Reading

(june 3oth) I grew up (as I suspect many of us artists born in the 80s did..) learning about Pollock. Not Krasner.

In my attempts to fill in the narrative with perspectives from artists that are not old, white and male this is the next book in my line up for summer reading.

I don’t remember when I first came across Lee Krasner’s work, but it’s been there in the periphery of my art historical knowledge for a little while. I enjoy it, but don’t quite have the same grasp on her story as I do Helen Frankenthaler or Joan Mitchell (my other favorites!) so I’m looking forward to learning.
