#artistonvacation -- Chile!
The husband and I are on our second week here in Chile and it's safe to say I'm in love. The country is breathtaking, the food is delicious (avocado on a hotdog is pure brilliance...), the people warm and friendly and the scenery is absolutely awe-inspiring.
I don't want to ever leave, but I am also so, SO excited to get back into the studio and paint all these mountain and sea inspired feelings.
And if you placed an order this week or last, do not fret - my lovely studio assistant is sending them all out right on schedule :)
Happy Friday friends!
Makers Magazine Issue 1 has arrived!
A few months back I was approached with the incredibly exciting opportunity to create a few paintings and write a corresponding little article about my time in Barcelona (specifically spent in the gardens) and how it shaped my artistic path and vision.
Issue # 1 of the Makers Magazine was released this week, and I am over the moon with excitement. The paper is beautiful, the publication is laid out gorgeously and I could not be more honored to be included in this creation.
I won't spoil the innards of the magazine (you can still purchase it here!) but it is just a wonderful collection of stories, works and images from some incredible makers all across the globe.
Like I said, *so* honored to be included.
Cloud 9 over here.

New Work :: Stratum
Stratum is a new abstract, blending acrylic and watercolor on a 18 x 24 inch canvas.
Inspired by land, water and winter breeze here in Miami, it was a slow process of addition and subtraction, painting and repainting until I felt the form represented the feeling I wanted to portray.
Stratum will be available in the shop and as a print shortly!
Sketching from our apartment lounge.
We're in the final days of our studio renovation adventure! The whole place is getting painted, new tile and baseboards - just a general facelift to make better use of the South Florida natural light.
And so, to avoid the incredible amount of dust, noise and all sorts of crazy machines that live in our space now, I've been working out of the 'business lounge' in our building. The first day was spent mostly going back and forth with the building about the wi-fi connection, but after ironing all that out it's been a nice quiet space to get a bit of work done. (But NO eating, as I informed by a smartly dressed member of management.... whoops).
As we near the end of the renovations, I've just about finished everything I can possibly do on a laptop and am positively itching to get back to my paints and canvases.
Seriously, the next time I am strapped for ideas of things to paint, I'll just lock up all my canvases. Not being able to paint has been a huge source of inspiration for when I'm able to work again.
<Ignore that croissant, I certainly wouldn't eat up here.>
Only a few more days until we can get back into the studio and normal life can resume!
